The Delta Empowerment Fair:
The Chicago Alumnae Chapter Empowers Families to Help Themselves

The Chicago Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host the Delta Empowerment Fair: Empowering Families to Help Themselves. The Fair will be held from 9a.m. to 3p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren Street. Admission is free. The Delta Empowerment Fair is a combined effort of Chicago Alumnae's Five Point Program Thrust Committees: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Political Awareness and Involvement, and Physical and Mental Health.

In an effort to completely address the needs of the community, all five committees will join forces in this important event. Some of the services being offered are free health screenings including, diabetes, blood pressure, and HIV/AIDS testing. There also will be credit and home-ownership seminars. Many social and service agencies will be available and residents will have the opportunity to attend a job fair with free resume services provided on site. There will be something for everyone, including an opportunity for attendees to learn how to trace Your Roots.

Entrepreneurial Fair

The Economic Development Committee and Delta Academy would like all Delta's who own a business to participate in the Delta Entrepreneur Fair on Saturday, November 17, 2007, from Noon to 6:00 p.m. The cost for Chicago Alumnae Financial Members is $25.

This is your opportunity to showcase your business and sale products. Registration forms will be available during the October Chapter Meeting. Please see Carron Woods . Deadline for registration is November 10, 2007. Outside vendors will be present sorors reserve your space early.

In order to improve you financial situation you must be cognitively aware of your score. Please check your credit score via the above website. If you let us know during the October Chapter Meeting, that you have checked your score by completing the raffle form that says, “Yes, I checked my credit score,” then you will be eligible for the Tip of the Month Raffle.
