Economic Development Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Hosts The Delta Empowerment Fair: The Chicago Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will host the Delta Empowerment Fair: Empowering Families to Help Themselves. The Fair will be held from 9a.m. to 3p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at Malcolm X College, 1900 W. Van Buren Street. Admission is free. The Delta Empowerment Fair is a combined effort of Chicago Alumnae's Five Point Program Thrust Committees: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Political Awareness and Involvement, and Physical and Mental Health. In an effort to completely address the needs of the community, all five committees will join forces in this important event. Some of the services being offered are free health screenings including, diabetes, blood pressure, and HIV/AIDS testing. There also will be credit and home-ownership seminars. Many social and service agencies will be available and residents will have the opportunity to attend a job fair with free resume services provided on site. There will be something for everyone, including an opportunity for attendees to learn how to trace Your Roots.
